Anemone Study
A graphite-like anemone composition with layered petals, fine veins, and quiet botanical detail.
Design Narrative
The client brought a pressed anemone from a botany textbook, flattened and labelled in someone else's handwriting. What appealed was the contradiction of it — a flower that only lasts days, preserved by being crushed. Drawing focused on keeping the petals' collapsed geometry rather than restoring them to a healthy bloom. The rib cage was chosen deliberately: a placement that moves with breath, given to a subject that no longer breathes.
